For the last several months, OSSE has engaged with school leaders, teachers, families and stakeholders about updating our Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) state plan for measuring and reporting school performance and accountability. In response to the extensive feedback we received, OSSE has published a draft of new school accountability system and is now opening it up to public comment from June 1 through July 8. In order to present a full picture of schools in our city, we encourage you to share your perspective through public comment and to share this opportunity with other stakeholders in your networks.

You can view the proposed ESSA state plan amendment on OSSE’s website at https://osse.dc.gov/essa.

Please send all public comments to dcschoolreportcard@dc.gov.
