Day Programs/Community Recreational Activities

Show all Day Programs/Community Recreational Activities Resources

Day programs for people with disabilities include regular activities to encourage appropriate physical activity and facilitate artistic and other creative activities and may provide field trips to athletic or artistic events in the community.

Schools, churches, and many civic organizations provide recreational facilities and programs for or inclusive of people with disabilities. The DC Department of Parks and Recreation manages and coordinates a wide range of recreational, educational, cultural arts, and athletic programs and services for DC residents. It operates more than 60 community and recreation centers around the city, including the DC Center for Therapeutic Recreation. Fun can’t be too far from you right now!
