The So Others Might Eat (SOME) Dining Room (71 O St NW) is committed to helping the poor and homeless of our nation's capital. During the pandemic, we still provide two meals, showers, and clothing to those in need daily. However, due to the recent surge in the Omicron variant, and our concern to provide essential services in the safest way possible, we are discontinuing indoor meal service beginning Tuesday, January 18th.

  • Guests may still receive hot breakfast along with a cold lunch bag every day from our parking lot between 7:30 am-9:30 am.
  • In addition to the meal, coffee and hot tea service will be available daily during business hours.
  • Our clothing room will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to Noon.
  • Our Community Pantry will be open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11am to 12pm.
  • Showers are available daily: men 6:00am-8:30 am and women 9:00am-10:30 am. Phone charging stations will open daily from 9-11:00am
  • Mail service will be available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am-1pm. On
  • Tuesdays and Fridays, mail will be available from 10am-1pm.
  • Volunteer shifts are still available on our website (https://www.some.org/) each afternoon.

The amended schedule is to make sure we do our part at keeping all our stakeholders as safe as possible during this pandemic.
