November 30th is #GivingTuesday and SchoolTalk is proud to participate in this Global Day of Giving! Each year, SchoolTalk tackles complex problems that impact youth and the schools and systems that support them through our RestorativeDC and InclusiveDC programs.

Here are just a few ways that we supported students and teachers this year:
- SchoolTalk’s RestorativeDC program helped strengthen the capacity of over 1,330 educators from 175 schools with restorative justice training and coaching designed to support and prepare staff for the return of D.C. students for the 2020-21 school year.
- During the 2020-21 School Year, SchoolTalk’s RestorativeDC provided coaching and support to 42 D.C. schools around creating restorative, safe, equitable spaces to deepen their understanding of the critical and complex well-being issues students face as they returned to virtual learning during the pandemic.
- SchoolTalk’s 2021 Summer Youth Employment Program, JumpStart, provided job readiness training and work-based learning opportunities to 55 students with significant disabilities.
- SchoolTalk’s InclusiveDC program is currently working in 8 D.C. high schools to provide approximately 150 youth with disabilities opportunities to enhance self-awareness and self-expression skills through school-based workshop series (creative careers snapshot, videography, photography, doodling (visual art), and music production)
