Dear EI/ECE/Advocacy Colleagues, You are invited to participate in completing the Early Intervention Accessibility for Parents with Low Literacy Survey. This survey is being conducted as part of educational requirements for students such as myself enrolled in the Certificate in Early Intervention Program at Georgetown University. Some family members of the children we work with have low literacy that can be a critical barrier that prevents collaboration with teams and active participation in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes. As professionals practicing within the fields of early childhood education (ECE)/early intervention (EI), we request your opinion about supporting families with low literacy or intellectual disabilities. General and aggregated perspectives gained from this survey may be used to inform recommendations to early intervention and education systems in the District of Columbia. This survey consists of fourteen (9) questions and can be completed in 5 minutes. All information provided through this survey will be kept confidential and stored on a password-protected computer. If at any time you feel uncomfortable or do not wish to proceed, you may exit the survey at any time. This survey will be available until May 10th, 2019. Only completed surveys will be used in the evaluation analysis. If you agree to participate in the survey, please click on the arrow below. This survey is being conducted as part of the completion of the requirements for the Georgetown University Graduate Certificate in Early Intervention. We thank you for your participation. If you have any questions please contact Dr. Chioma Oruh at cmo78@georgetown.edu or Ms.Clare Williamson at cw957@georgetown.edu.
